Pierre Guillaume, the wellknown and respected artist, came to the area to work on a new series paintings. Pierre was born in Holland in 1954 and came to Bali for the first time in the year 2000. tlp: " Why Bali?" Pierre: "There are magical names around the world .... Timbuktu", "Hawaii", " Tahiti", Mozambique. I decided to visit all these places. One of the names on the list was Bali. A magical place. Gorgeous women, and the tropical climate, Amazing! Bali has it's beauty full bright side, and a dark side on the other hand. "I like that balance. It is inspiring, fascinating and challenging here. So I like to go out and paint the life. Plein Air, on all different locations. tlp: "You make people happy and cheerful with your paintings. They are quality "Feel Good" works with something extra, both silent and active". Pierre: "Yes, I am an optimistic painter, I like to show joy and happiness. tlp: "You mainly choose "beach scenes" why is that? Pierre: "The beaches are right on the border. Where land stops and the ocean begins. The people are different on the beach too. The beach gives you the safe feeling that we remember from our youth. It is just fantastic, after spending a day on the beach, to come home and take a shower, wash the sand of your body, still with all the memories and pictures of the day in your mind. Amazing!" tlp: "Which painters are your inspired by?" Pierre: "Bastida Sorolla from Spain and Anders Zorn from Sweden. They also used the beach scenes as an inspiration. Fantastic art work! And not to forget, Adrian Le Mayeur de Merprès!
